Milestone

I am trying to set a task as a milestone and the duration is opaque so I
cannot change it to zero...... I checked the box to mark task as milestone
but it still won't go to zero. Please advise.

Hi Colleen,

Is this a summary task or an external task?
Summary tasks can't be milestones.
External tasks should be marked as milestone in the project they belong to.

I thought is would be a summary task since it summerizes the tasks below.
What is the difference between summary and External tasks?

A summary task summarizes the tasks below. The duration of the summary task
is the elapsed duration from the earliest of the tasks it summarizes to the
finish of the latest task it summarizes. You can not edit this duration.
