Text Styles - Change Priority of Application

R

I've tried to set text styles to show critical tasks to be displayed in bold
red font. I also set the text style for milestones to be display in Blue
Italic font. I displayed the "critical" field in a column to validate the
font change took place. What I found was that I have some milestone (zero
duration) tasks that are "critical" tasks but they are not displayed in the
bold red font but stay in the blue italic font for milestones text style!
What I would like is for those milestones that are "critical" to be displayed
in the same red bold font as all other critical tasks but it seems that the
text style for the milestone desination is taking precedence. Is there a way
to change the priority of the application of the text styles so that if I
have a critical milestone task then it is displayed in the critical task text
style, otherwise it is to be displayed in the milestone text style??

Hi rsdean2002 ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

You didn't say which version of Project you're using. However, I think it
has always been like that. A milestone isn't really a task as it consumes
no time or resources - just a point in time or a marker. (I know you can
make a task with some duration into a milestone, but that's just an "extra"
that Project offeers for presentation purposes.) In your case, try giving
the milestones a 1 min duration and those that are critical should turn red.
