Missing images when printing

D

Dene Marsh

I have been sent a PPT file which contains 1 slide to be
printed A3. When I print the file all the text comes out
fine, but not the images. However, when I do print
preview it displays correctly. I have tried several
printers and still the same outcome. The creatort is now
away, so I am unable to ascertain where the images have
come from

The file is in PPT 2002, running on XP Pro. The file was
created on an identical system.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Dene

Are you printing in B/W or color, Dene?

Bummer, I was hoping this would be just a B/W printing issue, but it
doesn't sound as if that's the problem.

If you were just seeing the issue when printing B/W, I'd think it was
simply needing an adjustment in the black and white settings. You'd get
there using View/Black and White, then you'd right-click the image and
choose Black and White Settings. Choose an option in there -- automatic
or greyscale often works well for images.

Since it's happening in color, too...

First thing to try is updating your printer drivers.

Second thing is to ask what are these images like? Are they very large
(file size-wise)? Do they have transparency or anything like that added
to them?

Hmm. Something to do with PPT 2002's unprintable transparent fills?

Dene, make a copy of the presentation. Working on it, select one of the
things that won't print, choose Edit, Copy. Then choose Edit, Paste Special
and pick PNG.

Delete the original shape.
See if that now prints.
