missing Mailbox

Home PC - Desktop

Office - Office XP Pro 2003 - Outlook

In the Navigation Pane under All Mail Folders - I don't have a Mailbox
folder. Where the Mailbox folder would be is a folder with the title
"Personal Folder" with all the subfolders under it like Inbox, Deleted Items,
and so forth. Since this is a pc I use at home and has only one email
account, that must be normal? There is no server.

At work we use Outlook and I see the Mailbox folder there. My guess is that
since a server is involved at work then the Mailbox folder is used and not in
my situation listed above.

A root folder that look like "Mailbox - username" is a sign that you use an
Exchange server at work. Naturally, a home user probably won't have an
Exchange server available. Instead, your delivery location is a Personal
Folders file (a PST) and, hence, its root will start with the words "Personal
Folders". So, your hypotheses are correct.
