Mouse does not work in dropdown box for setting to set time.

I am running Office 2003. In Outlook, when I try and set the time in a
calender entry, I cannot use my mouse to set the time, but can only do so
with the arrow keys. As soon as I try and use my mouse to select the time,
the dropdown box retracts.

no idea what is wrong... but instead using messing with that, just type the
time in.
