Moveing .pst files

I have recently upgraded from office xp on my old machine to office 2003 on my new machine. When I moved the .pst files to the new machine before i can start it now its asking for a password. I never had a password!! Help I really need my e-mails and adresses! my old machine has been wiped and reloaded and this is all I Have. What should I do ?
