Moving a page from one publication to another

C

Coral

I am using Publisher 2003. I have a page I wish to copy from one publisher
file to another one. Merge might be the term.

I have tried copying & pasting, but I can't seem to work with the new page
like one I created. It acts like a picture.

The page is quite complicated and would take a very long time to recreate it
again in my new publication.

An added complication is the page I wish to transfer to my new publication
was on a CD & I have since 'saved' it to my hard drive. Does this make a
difference?

What to do?

Thanks in advance for your invaluable help,
Coral

Is the document on the CD still in the .pub format?
If it is...copy it to your hard drive and open it in
Publisher. Then go to...Edit / Select All. Then
open your new document in Publisher and go to...
Edit / Paste.

If the document has been saved in a different
format...you will no longer have to option to edit
it in Publisher.

Thank you. That seems to have moved the editable information to a page in my
new publication. It did not carry forward the background from the page. Is
there a way I can locate the exact properties of the background in the
original carried forward page?

The background may be on the Master Page.
Re-open the original document and go to...
View / Master Page...now try the Select All /
Copy / Paste...Again.

When you paste in the new document...go to
Master Page before you paste.

There does not seem to be a Master Page. I will try to duplicate the
background by playing with it.

Thank you. I have so much to learn.

Let us know how it goes. If there is no
Master Page...I would have expected
the background to copy along with the
other objects.

I have obtained the color code & procedure for duplicating the background
and have managed to successfully have all the pages matched.
Thanks for being there for us.
