I have an old computer, uninstalled Office XP then installed on my new
(faster, bigger, better) computer.
We have five full licenses of 'OfficeXP Pro' and I 'think' I have the box
that was installed on the old machine. When I attempt to activate I am kicked
out because the license is already in use.
We thought we had kept the boxes with the correct computers, and they all
have the computer name that they were associated with written on the outside
of the box (of course the CD cases could have been exchanged).
I can not figure out from the serial numbers that are displayed by Help:
About in Word, which SN Key is associated with which box's keys.
1. Can I (legally) _move_ Office to a new machine?
2. Is the uninstall the correct way to move?
2. How can I figure out which key is in use on each machine?
3. When I uninstalled Office from the old machine, did it free up the
license for a new machine?
Thanks,
Mark
