First copy the file to new folder. Then check Outlook tools -> services.
There is setting which tells where Outlook searches the pst file. I don't
remember the exact place, because I don't have Outlook at home. The setting
is propably in the registry under key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office. You might also change the
setting from there.
Your advice is correct, but this should be changed in Tools/Services, or
in later versions Tools/E-Mail accounts, or File/Data File Management,
and not via the registry.
In 2003, this is done via File/Data File Management.
