Moving project files and resource pool

I'm thinking I'm going to have to do this the "long way" but I guess I'll ask
first...

I created 7 project files all tied to a resource pool. This is a new system
for us so I created the files sort of in a "test" location. Now that we've
worked out the kinks and have the files the way we want them (including the
fact that they've been updated as the current project information) I want to
move them to the "production" location where everyone can see them and access
them, etc. So, I go to move them and when I do that the files are looking for
the resource pool in the old location. In the process of trying to reset the
resource pool to the file in the new location I have to unlink the file, the
resources are put in the local resource sheet. I have to delete them though
because if I then try to connect to the resource pool in the new location
without deleting the local ones Project crashes. I've realized it's just not
liking that I have both. So... what I think is the best way to do this is
move the files, unlink the resource pool, copy the column of existing
resources assigned to the tasks, delete the local resources that are created,
select to share resources in new location, paste the resources back in to the
tasks and save everything. Before I do all this is there a better way? Anyway
of editing the link information? I don't have the option of not moving the
files - which seems to be the only recommendation to past posts with similar
questions.

Oh, and I'm using Project 2003 but if I could edit the links in 2007 I do
have a copy available on another computer that I could use for this if the
option is available.

The save way to move them is to have the pool and all projects open, then do
a save as for each file to the new location. When closing files, make sure
you say Yes to any prompts to save a file.

Make sure your backup process is regular and reliable because if anyone
starts over-writing files, moving them or renaming them file corruption will
happen sooner or later.
