Hi ; I have office xp installed on my NEC laptop and everything is OK ,
except for Word.When I try to open a doc , I always get the splash
screen telling me Word is not installed.Then i get an 'installer' window
and when I put in the CD code it says it's incorrect.
This software installed ok on the desktop m/c with no problems.
Is this a laptop related problem ??

Is not laptop related. Suggest you reinstall Word from your CD.

OK I did that , but still the same . everything else is OK ,Excel works
,Access works but not Word.

When you say "does not work" what do you mean? If you go to the folder
where Office is installed and double click on Winword.exe what happens,
nothing?

When you reinstall the Word component of Office, is your anti-virus software
running? If so, disable it, and then Repair Office. Let us know if you
receive any error messages.
