Wanting to utilize Email Wrokgroup messaging to update time in Project. Had
to download utility and make some minor registry changes since it is not
available in 2003. Can find documentation on how to set it up and use it but
not what it does exactly. When I email a resource their assigned tasks and
they email me back as to the hours that they actually worked is it updating
time? It worked on one resource but not another and the only difference was
that one was countoured and the other was flat schedule. Where can I find
information on the ins and outs of email collaboration

Hi Maryann,

The following Knowledge Base article is for Project 2002 but does contain
*some* information on using the email collaboration feature.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329827/en-us

It has been quite some time since I used email collaboration (that was in
Project 2000) but if I recall correctly, after a resource supplied tracking
information and sent the email back to the project manager, there was an
update project button in the email. Clicking that button would
automatically transfer the actual data to the project plan.

You may find some additional information through google groups on email
collaboration in project.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thank you...you are correct it does infact do just that. I just wanted to
verify that it did update the actual hours worked in the project, as it
doesn't really say that in documentation anywhere.
