Hi Bessario,

There were some additional steps required to use Visual Reports in the
Beta 2.0 release of Project 2007, but to the best of my knowledge, they
are not required for the final release.

That being said, below is a link to the directions to resolve in Beta
from the connect site for Project 2007.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

all to "run from my computer" but I notice that from "change" ms
project menu I don't have any choise to check "visual projects" when I
expand project node,I just have folowing;
NET. program... support
MS Office Project Server Migration Utillity
MS project templates
Resource Substitution wizard

I try to change my work from Primavera p5 to MS project, because I
thought that there is just everything what I need for keeping my
construction project on the line.

Hi Bessario,

Just a quick check -- do you have Excel installed? I assume you do as
you mention Office -- but just make sure.
How about Visio? Without Excel installed, as Manmeet noted, the Excel
visual reports do not work.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

You're most welcome for what little assistance I have provided. As I
noted in my original response, there were some problem with the .Net 2.0
framework and Project 2007 Beta, but I did not have to go through any
hoops to get the Excel Visual Reports to work in the released version of
Project 2007. After installing Office and then Project 2007, no further
effort was needed.

To your question about "Visual Reports" showing in the Control panel
under Microsoft Office Project -- no, that doesn't show in my
installation either -- so I don't think there is an error there.

I'm afraid I'm running short of suggestions.

If you have:
re-installed Project
activated the installation
have Excel and/or Visio installed and activated.

I'm afraid I'm out of other suggestions. I have searched google groups
for reports of issues such as you describe and I haven't found anything.

I've also search the Microsoft.Connect site for reports from other users
and haven't found anything other than the old post on the Beta release I
mentioned in my first reply.

You might try posting the issue you have to the connect site
http://connect.microsoft.com/feedback/default.aspx?SiteID=235

and see if someone has some better suggestions.

I'm sorry I couldn't help further :-(

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback. Sorry we couldn't come up
with a fix that seems to have worked.

Hmm, this is weird, you don't need .Net 2.0 for Visual Reports anymore so it
can't be an issue with that. The first time you go to the Visual Reports
dialog it copies all the templates over from program files location to a
location under your documents and settings - I'm betting something is going
wrong here.

Try going to \Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates\1033. (Application Data is a hidden folder so if
you don't see it turn on hidden folders and 1033 represents English so if you
are running in a different language try a different 4 digit number). If you
don't have a 4 digit number, then make sure the OS permissions are set
correctly to allow you to create new folders here. If you have a 4 digit
number, try deleting the contents, and then trying Project - Visual Reports
again.
