MS Project Filter : How can I use Status Date in comparisons

Want to produce a filtered view of tasks active around the Status Date but
only seem to have access to 'task' level columnsin the filter build dialogue
box. Is there some way to express 'project' level columns

AFAIK, it's not possible in a simple interactive way. You have to run this
can of filter with a VBA procedure.
