MS Project Server 2002

I actively utilize MS Project as part of my job function
with my company. Our IT representative asked that I
administer the software as I use it on a daily basis. I
need to find out how to assign users and user rights. Can
anyone help?

Congrats on your new job responsibilities! If you are going to serve as
your company's Project Server administrator, you should probably start by
downloading the free courseware that Microsoft makes available for Project
2002 and Project Server. The courseware can be found at:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tr...nol/project/project2002/training/prj02trn.asp

I would recommend that you download Modules 1, 2, and 3 and read them with
vigor. Pay special attention to lessons 39 and 40 in Module 2, and the
entirety of Module 3, as these deal with administrator information.

Beyond the free materials, I would also strongly recommend that your company
purchase the book, "Implementing Enterprise Portfolio Management with
Microsoft Project Server 2002" by Gary Chefetz. This book is the top book
on the entire environment of Project 2002/Project Server/Project Web Access,
and is worth every penny. It can be ordered at places like Amazon.com, and
can also be ordered directly at Gary's Web site at:

http://www.msprojectexperts.com

Hope this info helps.
