MS Project Server - Windows Authentication

I'm having a problem getting the windows authentication
feature of Project server 2002 working on a Win2K system
with IIS-5, but when I don't encounter any problem when
creating a user with using the project server
authentication. Any ideas or advice would be very much
appreciated?

I also would like task if any one knows whether using
windows authentication would not prompt user with the
login screen of project server web access authentication
challenge? Again, any help hints or help would be
appreciated.

If this helps, here's what I found out today. I'm relatively new to this,
but I think I understand enough of how our network here is setup to
determine what's going on.

When adding a new user, we have been instructed to use Windows
authentication. I found that if I entered a user's username that the
Windows network server could not authenticate, it turned the username I
entered from black to red, and allowed me to add the user, but would default
that user to Project Server authentication. The usernames that did clear
were set up in the Enterprise resource pool as Windows authentication.

It appears that Windows authentication is an "external" (to Project Server)
authentication, whereas Project Server authentication is more "local". If
you go and change the properties of a user using the Web portion of the
system, when you click on Project Server authentication, you get to change
the password, whereas under Windows authentication, no password option is
visible. This would tend to say that my initial suspicions are fairly
accurate.
