MS Word probelm

I am having a problem in MS Word in that when i create a new document a grid
appears across all pages. When i type each cell in the grid is shown a
letter. How do i get rid of this grid so as to type documents and be able to
see them clearly with a new blank page starting up for new documents. It is
only with new documents that the problem exists and not my older saved Word
documents. Is it some kind of setting?

Hi Chris,

When the grid appears can depend on the language settings you may have enabled for your copy of Word through
Start=>Programs=>Microsoft Office Tools=>Language Settings

Check in Word in File=>Page setup to see if you have a 'Document Grid' tab. If so you may have more than one Asian language enabled.
You can turn off the display of the document grid in that tab.

If you don't have that tab then you can use View=>Toolbars=>Drawing
and on that Toolbar Draw=>Grid, to turn off the grid display.
