Hi,

we have MSP setup for around 400 plans and they are working fine except one.
when user try to open a particular plan there is error 'not enough memory to
complete the operation'. plan size is only 636 KB and RAM is 2GB. same plan
is giving error on every user's machine.
any ideas?

It sounds to me like this plan has become internally corrupted. This is an
occasional problem with Microsoft Project plans of any version. I assume
that the user is NOT able to open the plan. If this is the case, the user
might try the following:

1. Create a new blank project.
2. Click Insert - Project.
3. Deselect the "Link to project" option checkbox.
4. Select the corrupted project and then click the Insert button.

If the system is able to insert the project in question into the new blank
project, the user should save it under a different name and then the Project
Server administrator should delete the corrupted project from the Project
Server database. If the corrupted project has Risks, Issues, Documents, or
Deliverables associated with it, the Project Server administrator should
follow the steps documented in the following FAQ to preserver the Project
Workspace during deletion, and then connect it to the newly created project:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/ProjectServerFAQKnowledgeBase/DeleteProjectWithoutSubweb.aspx

In the above-referenced FAQ, the Project Server administrator can ignore the
steps about importing the project, since the PM will have already saved the
project. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale,

Thnaks for your response and i will surely follow steps suggested by you but
only concern is that user is able to open it sometime but can't save it and
sometimes both operations work fine.

Do you know how the user is opening the project plan? If there are invalid
characters (2 spaces together, and & in the project name, etc.) when
attempting to open the project via project center you will get this error
message.
