MSProj : Resource Usage View : why is "Text3" column is <empty>

In the GanttChart-view, I added a Text3-column that shows text values for
each task (appropriately).
When combined with the Resource Usage View, I added the Text3-column into
the ResourceUsageView, but is <empty> for all rows.
Question -- why are these <empty> and how can I get the Text3 values to
appear in the ResourceUsageView.
