MSPS 2007 - Question Regarding Using Multiple Issues Lists

T

Tim Mccoy

How can I work around MSPS 2007 not allowing me to have multiple issues lists?

I’ve got my out of the box “Issues†list on the project workspace. I’ve
added another issues list, which I called “Action Itemsâ€. I get an error
24018, 24016, and 2600. The message indicates I can only have one list of
this type.

I like the “Issues†template because it allows me to link to other items in
the workspace such as documents.

Is there a work around?

Thank you!

Tim

You can only have one Issues list type in a workspace. That being said,
you can create a list from another list template, and that should work -
as long as you don't call it "Issues."

The only trick will be to add the right custom fields to the template. That
might be a bit tedious the first time, but with content types and list templates,
that should be easy for other sites.

What to you mean link to other items such as documents? Do you mean attach
documents? Or link to tasks in MS Project?

Thank you for the quick reply Andrew.

When I refer to "linking" I am not referring to attaching documents. I am
referring to the "Link" button that appears when you edit the list item. It
allows you to link Project Tasks, Project Documents, etc. to the list item as
a reference.

Thank you!

Tim
