mtm files - how to open them

Hi All.
Sorry if this has been covered before...I haven't found it so far.

When I am sending a request for update or any time I am trying to
publish information using MS Project 2003 Pro and Outlook 2003, the
email has got a .MTM attachment. I can't open it with any software. What
to do with these files, how to view them?
I have got a Windows Message Handler istalled of course. I am not using
MS Project Server/Project Web Access
no information on that problem here or in books so it must be extremally
easy or horribly difficult - Hope it is not a kind of faux pais;)

Each user must run and install the file WGSETUP.exe that came with the
MS Project software. This sets up their machine to be able to
understand the Workgroup messages that Project sends through email.

I had already the add-in installed (and the neccesary Registry changes
made) . It still does not recognize the file type. (I tested it on my PC
using e-mail communication)

The addin has to be on the machine receiving the mail as well as the one
with Prokject installed. Did you do that?

I am sending (on testing purpose) the message to the same computer on
which I have the apllications (Project and WMHandler) installed - i.e.
I am sending them to myself (to the same computer) via public network &
external mailbox (not a LAN-only connection). And it unfortunatelly does
not work.

thx a lot, it finally started to work - I had to manually select the
Openmail as a device to open it. Somehow it didn't recognized it by
default (it tried to deal with it as with a Winamp file;)
thx for your help
best regards

btw do all the recipients need to have MS Project installed to respond
the msgs?

No, only the PM needs to have Project itself installed. All the recipients
MUST have the WGSETUP add-in installed on their workstations however.
