I'm using Outlook 2002 as my email client, but would like to share this with
other members of the family. Is it possible to set up Outlook (like Outlook
Express) to require a login name and password, and therefore stop my email
messages being deleted!

Outlook uses Profiles, not identities. Take a look at this MS KB article, it
