I am using Windows XP. I have recently installed Office
2003, Outlook 2003 and Business Contacts Manager for
Outlook 2003. Previously, I used Outlook Express 6 and
had it set up with 2 identities - one each for my wife
and me.
When I installed Outlook, I couldn't figure out how to
set it up for 2 separate email addresses so, instead, I
created a second user account in Windows. In the existing
user, I easily imported my wife's contacts and messages
into Outlook. When I tried to import my contacts and
messages into Outlook in the new user, it couldn't find
the files. I then copied the .PST file that my wife was
using into my directory. This gave me access to my
contacts and messages but left me with 2 identical
personal folders in the navigation pane. They both have
the same name and they both point to the same .pst file.
The "Close Personal Folders" option in the shortcut menu
is not available when I right-click either folder. My
wife's outlook has FIVE duplicate personal folders!! Like
mine, they all have the same name, they all point to the
same .pst file and none of them have the "Close Personal
Files" option available.
I have searched the web for solutions but it doesn't
appear to be a common problem. I renamed one of the
folders as was suggested in a newsgroup post but could
still not delete it afterwards.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks...Joe
