I am a software trainer and would like to have Office 2000
and Office 2003 available on the same pc. Can anyone
suggest ways to do this?

Hi Diane -

Although this configuration is not recommended by Microsoft, here is an
article that may help you limit potential issues that this may cause.
(Although it specifically mentions Access, the same concept applies for
Office.)

Computer

It's less of a problem with Office 2003. Make sure you install and
configure Office 2000 first--including service packs. Then when you run
Office 2003 setup, you can choose which applications you'd like to keep.
You can now have multiple versions side by side however, you can only have
one Outlook. Some people recommend installing the the different versions on
separate partitions but if they're using the same OS installation, I don't
see that this would make much difference. The only difficulty you run into
is if you're using third-party add-ins, especially for Word. It's less of a
problem in Excel but I would stick to clean Microsoft install, if possible,
without add-ins. As for Access, Access 2000/XP/2003 can all be configured
to use the same file format (2000) so that's not really a problem.

Good luck.
