My print layout view has changed!

When opening a new blank document in "Print Layout View"
my version of WORD (WORD XP) no longer displays the
header and footer area unless I click on "View" and then
click "Header and Footer" Is there a way that I can
repair or replace Normal.dot so the print layout view
appears the way I prefer it?

Two ways:

1. On the View tab of Tools | Options, check the box for "White space
between pages."

2. Hover your mouse over the top of the page till the pointer changes to a
double-headed arrow and you get the ScreenTip "Show White Space."
Left-click.
