a) Please use the big white space to ask your question, and the Subject

b) This is a Word problem, not a Publisher one. This group is for
Microsoft Publisher.

c) This is not a different encoding. When a document is being edited,
Word creates temporary files with names that look like this. They should
be deleted when the document is closed, but they are often not
(particularly with older versions and when Word crashes). Move them to a
different folder; if the original document opens as expected (almost
certainly will), then you can delete them.
