Naming Tables in 2002

If you record the steps for going to a table in a
document, the result is something like: selection.goto
what:=wdgototable, which:=wdgotofirst, count:=1, name:=""

I really need to be able to name the tables in a document
and it would seem that doing so is possible because of the
last parameter in the goto code. For the life of me, I
can't find any way to fill that parameter or anything
related to naming a table. In the past I've used bookmarks
to identify specific tables, but bookmarks have a way of
being deleted by users. So--can a table be named in Word
2002, particularly one that is created through VBA code,
or did the developers neglect to do anything with that
particular parameter? Thanks.

Thanks, Doug. The benefit of the table name is that it
stays with the document, regardless of any editing the
user might do and is also available for use by additional
macros after the initial code runs. Bookmarks accomplish
the same goal, but I was hoping to use something that
couldn't be removed accidentally from the form.
