Navigating to contents from Table of Contents

I am new to mac, and am trying to figure out how to navigate through my document from my table of contents in Word. On my PC, I could press control and click the heading in the table to go to the section. In one of my documents that was created on the PC, the TOC still works - I just have to click once to go to the section. However, in the document where I created the TOC on the mac, I can't figure out how to do this jumping. Clicking does not do it, with any combination of buttons I have tried, and the menu does not give me a 'jump to' option or anything similar.
Thanks for your help!

Click the *page number* of the TOC item you want to go to.

Alternatively go to View> Navigation Pane & use the Document Map to navigate
the document or set the Browse Object button (small round icon at bottom of
vertial scroll bar) to Heading. Then use the dbl-Arrow buttons to browse
up/dn or Command+PgUp/PgDn (if on a laptop include the [fn] key).

You've also got Command+G for the Go To dialog..........

Just to amplify what Bob said:

The TOG Generator in PC Word gained an extension that turns each entry into
a hyperlink. I was delighted to discover that they left it out of the TOC
Generator in Mac Word :)

(It makes it very difficult to edit the TOC, and it corrupts documents...)

So any TOC will be generated "with" hyperlinks on the PC (unless you disable
the blasted thing...) and "without" on the Mac.

This does not usually matter, unless you want to publish the result to a web
site, or to PDF. If you do, and you want a clickable TOC, generate the TOC
using Word 2000 or later on the PC.

Hope this helps
