Need help troubleshooting Organization Chart Wizard issues.

Roy

We have several people in our department that are trying to use Visio to
create org charts (using the wizard). I can successfully create a chart, as
can one other; however all of the others in our department can not. They
only get a chart with 1 employee; where we get all the subordinates as well.
We've checked versions, and walked through the same settings when using the
wizard, but can not find any differences.... anyone got any ideas?

Can you give more details on the issue such as the version of Visio and the
service pack level? What is the source of your data for the Org Wizard? I
have seen some issues when Exchange Server is used as the source; please
review knowledge explorer article 831068.

You might try the reverse process first. Let everyone start with a sample
org chart and use the wizard to export it. Then, start a new Visio drawing
and use the wizard to import the file that was exported. If that works, then
you at least have a file that can be used as a template.

James,

In my about it shows MS Office Visio Pro SP2 (11.8702.8202) SP3; however
another with an earlier update (11.8702.8172) can also create org charts.
We're creating them from the Exchange Server. Others with my release level
can not use the wizard to create a chart. We're all domain admins; so
security shouldn't be an issue. I looked at 831068 and it doesn't appear to
apply.

Is anyone a member of the local admin group on the box, this could be part of
the issue. These types of issues tend to get very complex and require
information about your computers, users and Exchange Server so it would be a
good idea to open a support case with Microsoft.
