Need Office 2003 help, I deleted it off the computer

I got a really bad virus/spyware/adware/something on my PC. I ended up doing
a total system restore/recovery, and I am happy that the computer will at
least connect to the internet and iTunes did not get removed. However, we
had Office 2003, Student/Teacher edition on here, and now the computer is
demanding the registration codes all over again. All of our documents were
in Word, and they are sitting out there in their folders, but I can no longer
open them, at least not in Word. I don't even want to know yet what happened
to the Excel spreadsheets. I cannot find where the original disc is located
in the house, can someone please tell me if there would be a record of my
registration either with microsoft, or somewhere on my computer where I just
don't know to look? Thanks!

I don't know how you did something that wiped out Office but not iTunes. You
can try downloading Belarc Advisor and see if that works.

JoAnn,
Thanks for replying. I did the Belarc Advisor, and this - Microsoft Office
2003 Version 11.0.6506 - is one of the Office things that came up under
software versions. I followed the asterisk, and a LOT of folders popped up.
It is obvious that Office is still here on the computer, but I can't open it.
Do you have any advice on what I should explore in the folders that came up?
Heck, if we can get Word/Office fixed, maybe you might have advice on where
my speakers went to, as they no longer work. I had to download a driver to
get the video card to work without error messages too. It has been a heck of
a day.

Thanks again.

To temporarily open your Word documents, download and install the free Open
office suite.

www.openoffice.org

(You may find you prefer it to MS Office!)

Search for winword.exe, double click on the file, does Word start?
If not, you need the Office disk & unless you have proof of purchase, ie a
receipt, you will have to buy it again.
Belarc Advisor would have revealed the Product ID/Key code for office, look
again at the report

Write down the product key number, uninstall whatever Office is on the
system, then reinstall it.

As to your speakers - can't help. I don't use speakers and besides, that is
a question best asked in a Windows newsgroup, not Office.

Thanks for all the help. I have never actually had to do much to work with
Office/Word, so I have not had a reason to look at the Winword.exe, strange
as that might sound. And I also have not looked at the Belarc report before,
and that was really nice to know about. I tore the basement storage apart,
and found the disc, and all is almost well. still no speakers, but.....
