need to downsize photos to send by email, which powerpoint?

i need to send photographs by email, they are coming out far too big, I am
told I need to download a powerpoint programme, can anyone advise on how to
do this

If you do not have PowerPoint (which you will need to purchase it, or
download 60 days trial), the fastest way is probably to zip the photos using
WinZip (www.winzip.com), or use Windows XP Built-in Zip
support ( Read here:

One more to add on. Compressing may produce result below expectation. If you
do have any graphical editing software, reduce the image size from there. You
can do so by reducing the height and width.

You can also use Microsoft Paint (Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint) to
do the work.
Open the image. Click on Image > Stretch/Skew. Then reduce the percentage
under stretch.

You don't need Power Point for that, the simplest way is to use the free
Microsoft Powertoy : "Image Resizer".
