New email shows on folder unread numbers, but not in the inbox mai

OK I can get a new message and not know it (Outlook, office 2007). The only
indicator I have a new message is the numbers by the inbox folder that
indicates how many unread messages are in there. What is interesting is if I
click on a different folder (say drafts) and back to inbox presto (or should
I say abracadabra) there are my new emails. hmmm

My new email notice that normally floats up from the clock area is not
working either.

I’m about to remove and reinstall office, but I’m not certain that will
work. Because I did the repair option in add remove programs and that did not
work I'm not certian a reinstall will work.

Any help appreciated.

So this appears to go back to April, I'm not certain how many weeks I have
ignored mine....
