New Web Location Problem

Mike Chappell

I'm attempting to create a new web site, and when i get the 'web site
template' window, i try to create a new personal web. in the 'options'
section, it asks me to specify the location of the new web. there is a
server on our corporate network running IIS (the latest version). When i
enter the 'http://.....' address of the server, it says the server doesn't
have MS FP Server Extensions installed and won't go any further (even though
I have unchecked the box about MS FP SE on Page Settings). Anyone know why
it won't associate the http location with the web? Is there a way to bypass
that? If i enter the network address, ie, \\Servername\folder, it allows me
to do it, it just won't with the http address. Thanks for the help.

You can't use http protocol, as that requires the FP server extensions. You
would need to have a web configured on the IIS server, and set up for FTP.
