no changes in normal.dot macros

Hi all,

Each time I add a macro (any macro) to normal.dot or even if I change a
macro of delete a macro with remnants of a try out, all is well, also macros
can be executed withoud consequences. But after closing Word it can't be
opened again.

To open Word again I have do delete normal.dot and replace it by the version
from before the adding or changing of code. This problem exists already for
more dan half a year and I never found out what could have caused it.

Does any of the readers of this post know what is wrong? And how to correct
this?

I use XP SP2 and W2k.

Your help will be appreciated.

Eventhough below, URL deals with missing menu's ...etc, the resolutions

Kindly repost if the problem persists.
