No Printer Installed

When I try to print from Excel 2007, I get the message "no printer installed"
Other Office programs, i.e. Word, print normally.
I have: uninstall/reinstalled printer driver (Canon MX700);
uninstall/reinstalled Office 2007; unsuccessfully tried Windows XP Repair
option. Installed same version of Office on another computer, where it
functions properly.

I am at a loss. I suspect some corrupted OS file.
