Publisher 2007 print problems

Every time I try to print from Publisher 2007 I get this error message:
To print or preview a publication, at least one printer must be installed on
the system.

I am running Vista Ultimate 64, and have a Canon MP980 multifunction printer
that I have installed and reinstalled. Other office programs (Word 2007, etc)
print without problems. Any suggestions?

This was Posted by Mark Clifton. It has worked for other folks, it is worth a
try. His printer is different of course, but the issue was the same.

Same BROTHER problem. I can print to other printers but not Brother. I
contacted Brother and they were no help and blamed it all on Microsoft. I
TRICKED IT into working.

Hope this works for someone else: I went to (printers) and selected a new
default printer. >>Any printer will work, you don't need the physical printer,
just the driver<< I used an old one (Panasonic kxp-1624) Then I hit print
preview and it finally showed a preview. Then I minimized that screen and went
back to printer and defaulted back to Brother, then brought back up the
minimized preview screen from publisher and hit PRINT. It worked, and now it
seems to recognize Brother without going thru it each time. My Brother was an
mfc-240c.
