no response importing excel to project 2003

Import/copy to Project failure

I am trying to transfer data from an Excel workbook to a new Project 2003
file. I have tried to Copy both multiple and single cells. I have tried to
open the Excel file in Project to trigger the Import Wizard. In each case I
end up with no response from Project after clicking Paste or Open.

Hi Import/Copy,
One thing you might check is in Excel - choose Tools, Options, and click the
General Tab. Under Settings, if you see a checkmark next to Ignor Other
Applications, click the box to remove it, then choose OK. Close Excel and try
to open from Project again. If no luck, try saving your Excel file as .csv,
and opening the .csv file in Project.
