no sound after installing office 2003

I recently had to start over after a motherboard and hard drive crash. I
have WinXP Pro which was installed with all updates and a sound card that
worked. When I installed Office 2003, the sound card is no longer
recognized. When I used System Restore and went back to just before the
Office install, the sound card was recognized and worked again. I then used
System Restore to move to just after the Office install, and the sound card
would not be recognized again. I did not see anything in the MS Office
Knowledge Base on this. Ideas?? Thanks, Brad

Uninstall the sound card drivers and reinstall?

Figured it out - when MS Office was loaded, it took out the sound card that
was installed. We went into Offices Tools, took out the default sound card
then directed Office to use the installed card and wal-lah, it works.
Thanks, Brad
