NOT APPEARE AT THE SAME LINE

Example
Purpose: The following statement...........

Afer I made the word "Purpose" bold and under line, "The
following statement" phrase is appeared little up when I
the document is printed. I mean when I print the paper,
the PURPOSE and THE LOLLOWING STATEMENT is not on the same
line. THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT is move up little bit.
Would you please tell me how to make them stay in the same
line?
