number formatting changes

hen linking numbers, shown in whole dollars in an excel spreadsheet, to the
chart data table (which has been formatted using the custom number feature to
be in millions) the numbers show up properly in millions of dollars.
However, when you update the link, it changes the table data back to whole
dollars. I have also formatted the series number labels using the custom
feature to put them in millions and they remain in the graph as million
dollars amounts when the links are updated. How do you get the table values
to remain formatted in millions?

Have you try using this: "&"

Separate the dollar $ sign with the numbers for example:

$100.00 = type on the cell "$"&100&.00. See if this formatting works.
