Office 2000 Apps Lock when opened

We just got a new laptop with Windows XP on it. I loaded Microsoft Office
2000 on this laptop. At first, the applications in Office were loading ok.
Now, when we open the applications in Office, they freeze up for about 60
seconds before we are able to use them. Once they get past this freeze, they
work fine until we close them and try to reopen them. Does anyone have any
idea what may be causing this?

Another side note that I just tested. If I log in under a different Windows
account, the Microsoft Office applications all load ok. Is there a specific
registry entry or several registry entries that could be causing this?

Any AV app, office plugin enabled?
Any apps loading on startup that dont on the OK loggin?
I havent seen this prob on my winxp/o2K setup

I disabled the AV (TrendMicro Officescan) and I still had the same problem.
The same applications all start on both accounts. No office applications are
loaded in Windows startup.
