Office 2000 - Send to mail recipient...

Mindy

Until recently I was able to email my Word document through the "send
to...mail recipient" embedded in the email...NOT as an attachment. I
recently had to uninstall and reinstall my Office 2000 while trying to solve
an Outlook problem I was having. I solved the Outlook problem but now I can
not "send to mail recipient". My only option is to "send as an attachment".
I can not seem to figure out how to get this feature back.

I tried to use the "Customize" feature by adding it back to the toolbar but
the feature is faded out.

Any suggestions or solutions how I may get this feature back? I fear I may
have done something when I was troubleshooting my Outlook problem. I could
go into details on what I did if someone thought that was necessary in
solving my problem.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Well I am a step closer...had to set Outlook as my default mail client (or
something like that). Now I get an error message "Word could not load email
envelope. This could be caused by a network problem or a problem with the
Outlook installation". Can anyone tell me what about the network is the
problem? I was able to do this before. I doubt anything has changed.

Have you installed all applicable service packs for your version of outlook?

Well that is yet another frustrating problem I ran into this afternoon. I
could NOT download the Service Packs. Kept getting a Active X something
error and the suggestions to make that work...wouldnt work. So I thought I
would try and download the exe. file to another machine at home and take in
tomorrow and give that a try. Will try that and post my findings.

I had also found this... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260623/en-us
Seems to describe my problem exactly but the resolution they suggest will
not work for me because I am running Windows 98. The suggestion is running a
ORKtool.exe file for Office 2003 becuase Microsoft doesnt provide the ORK
tool set for 2000 anymore for security reasons....so yet another wall I have
come too...

Im hopeful someone can find an answer for me...I'm still a lookin'

I may have made a mistake in regard to not being able to use the ORKtools for
2000. I may have been reading under the wrong file download information.
Hopefully it will work when I try it tomorrow...along with the Updates I
downloaded here at home onto a Travel Drive.
