Office 2000 setup in Win98

Rouke

I had Office 2000 setup in Windows 98SE, and running succesfully for many
years, when suddenly it gave me a message that the application wasn't
properly installed and that I needed to install it from the location where
it was originally installed. This happens only in the user profiles, when I
press 'cancel' (default user?, where office was installed) instead of
selecting a user profile at start up, Office works fine. I can't think of
having installed anything except I have reinstalled Windows 98SE, 'repaired'
Office 2000 in the original location, but nothing will help. Is there
anyway I can compare the registry of the default setup and that of the user
profile? What line should I look for in the registry? The only other option
I can think of is creating a new user profile, but then I loose too many
settings. Could someone help me please?

Thanks,

M
