Office 2000 slow open

Hi! I've got problem with open files via LAN. This is a network about
150 computers and all of them work on win 2000. When opening office
files (word, excel) from network drives it takes about 3-4 minutes and
during this,system hangs.
I don't use macros and files are not too big.
When i copy file to local drive- all goes properly.

Three possibilities come to mind:
1. Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows
desktop, left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect
any mapped drives that are not currently available.
2. If you are using Symantec/Norton Antivirus, try disabling
the Office Plugin that comes with it. See
