Office 2000 SP3

Pappy

I'm using Windows XP Home and Office 2000. When I try to install SP3, I
get the error saying something about C:\config.msi\PT15F.tmp being corrupt
and can't be updated. Is there a fix for this?

This isn't common; are you absolutely sure you downloaded the correct
SP3 file for your exact retail version and read the instructions? If so,
I'd suggest trying to uninstall Office 2000 then reboot to reset
MSIEXEC, then re-install and try again. In general it does not take long
to uninstall/reinstall and your settings will be remembered.

Gerry,

Thanks for the feedback. It appears that nobody else has seen this
error since you're the only one to provide a response. My Office
appears to be running okay right now. When I got this error, I selected
"ignore" and proceeded. If I run into problems later, I'll follow your
suggestion. I assume that none of my Outlook information will disappear
(i.e., addresses, messages, etc.).

Thanks again for the feedback,

Hi Pappy,

suggestion. I assume that none of my Outlook information will disappear

In general, you will not lose any data such as email or addresses, but
it's best to have a backup anyway - even if you are not planning to
uninstall/re-install anything!
