Office 2003 hanging

I have installed Office2003 on about 100 machines some with Windows2000 and
others with XP and on about 10% when they go to open Word in Office it takes
a long time and just hangs there, then pops open like it came to life. Has
anyone had any experience like that on machines and if so fixed them. The
customers tihnk the network is slow but this ocurs only when trying to open
Office

Hi Joe,

Check for mapped drives that aren't 'there', check that you have a default printer selected in Word in File=>Print, preferably with
a local driver.

If these are upgrades and you open existing documents then there can be a delay while Word 'waits for' or tries to find the original
'attached' template file it uses.
