office 2003 mail merge problem

Hi,

I have a problem where when I mail merge an Excel 2003 file into Word 2003 I
lose my post codes unless I have my second line feature a letter rather than
a number. Some of my post codes are just numbers because some are in Nigeria
etc..

Has anyone else come across this problem and does any know of a proper fix
rather than just fudging it putting a fake address first?

If I use the same files on Office 2000 it works fine.

thanks,

Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy,

You may want to also post this in the MS Word Mailmerge
newsgroup (link below). Is the post-code field/column
in excel formatted as text?

Mailmerge in Word 2002/2003 is different from earlier
editions.
