Office 2003 'Not responding' to links or 'Reply'

I am using outlook 2003 and have had no problems up until now. Each time I
try to 'reply' or click on a link within an email, outlook seems to stop
working, i get a 'not responding' message and have to close the programme and
re open.
Any suggestions? Thank you
