Office 2003 Professional becomes unable of doing updates

After installing the sp2 of windows xp, i can not use the update site of ms
office.
As soon as the computer runs the ms office update i get one error message
saing that it is not possible to verify the existance os updates in this
computer.

How to solve this problem?

Read the message at the top of the browser window, and do what it says.

Before then, there WILL be a single line message at the top of the browser
wondow informing you that an active-x control is required, and to click on
the message to install it; that is unless you have set the security settings
too high.

I have noticed that the line was missing, and that I didn't had the security
alert asking me for permission to install active-X.

I follow up al the methods discribed in article 304 498, and so, seurity
level is set to internet and the site of office update is marked as a trusted
sites.

Me I forgot to refer that I'm not using the windows xp Firewall, but instead
I have installed Internet Security 2004.....

The problems remain, after disabling the internet security
