office 2003 standard to pro

P

Peter

I have office 2003 standard edition on my computer. I have office
2003 professional edition that I would like to install on this machine and
use my old 2003 standard ed. on another computer. I would like to save all
my settings, files, email adresses and emails, rules etc.

I wnat to make sure that I do this so that I do not "lose" any files,
emails etc.

Whast is the best way?

Just uninstall Office 2003 standard edition, reboot, and then install Office
2003 professional. The uninstall routine does not touch user settings or
data, so you are fine.

/neo

PS - I would suggest using Office 2003's Save My Settings wizard, but it
doesn't backup PST files. If you where working with IMAP/PST accounts, then
they would have to be backed up/moved separately or you would have to modify
an *.ini file to get them included.

Bob Buckland ?:-\)

Hi Peter,

If either of the Office 2003 packages you have is an OEM edition then it can't be transferred to another PC. If they're retail
copies they can be moved around.

If either is an upgrade package you'll need the upgrade qualifier to install the Office package (an Office 2003 package won't work
as a qualifier for another Office 2003 package).
